For the 2009-2010 school year will have scheduled 6 tournaments at Art
Freiler School. We are also looking to expand and hold our tournaments
at other schools in the other months. Obviously eveyone would still be
invited to play in those too!
February Tournament -
Art Freiler School, Tracy
(Friday, February 5th, 2010)
Start warming up for the Regionals (March) and the State Championships (April) and
our Super Trophy Tournament (May) with great victories in our next chess tournament on February 5th.
As usual, no elimination
and we are asking for $10.00 to cover the cost of the awards. Sign-ups start at 4:00pm,
and we will have fun games, instruction, bug-house, crazyhouse before the tournament
starts at 6:15pm.

CalChess State Scholastic Championships -
San Jose
(Saturday/Sunday, April 17/18, 2010)
This is the largest chess tournament in California with between 800 and 1000 kids playing!!!
Last year teams from Tracy won 4th place in the State 4-6 Junior Varsity Section and 3rd place
in the State in the 7-8 Junior Varsity Section. Can we do even better this year??
